"I hold on to You for dear life, and you hold me steady as a post..." Psalm 63

Around here....

...this can mean only one thing...
SOMEone is home from school w/the flu!
This water jug has been around since I left the hospital with one of my newborn babies...can't remember which one.  It's either 19, 16, or 13 years old!  It's seen better days...has a crack in the lid, BUT..it's still the go-to cup for everyone who comes down with any kind of flu-bug!  None of us would DARE drink out of it if we're not head-first in the toilet or sweating with fever.

This morning, shortly after the rude alarm woke us up, Emma slinked into my room and complained of  stomach and head aches.  After (selfishly) trying to convince her she's ok, I agreed to let her sleep in for an hour and see if she's feeling up to going to school later.  (*Selfish me wanted to spend the morning with my dad at Panera as planned...we had some SERIOUS talking to do!)  Thankfully, common sense screams louder than my selfish self, because not an hour later, she was, in fact, head-first in the toilet.  Poor thing...

So, I headed to the Library...
for videos...
...and came home with a bonus in the FREEBIE box, for me...

Plus, THIS
came in the mail yesterday, and I can't wait to get lost in it!

So, in between this....
and this....
(and trying to ignore the nagging feeling my stomach hurts...)

.....it's a good day...

I could comment on the unwelcomed familiarity of that drinking container or the kindness of your heart in traisping to the library, or the way i understand you mentally battling the virus before (or IF) it even hits you...but the main thing that sticks out about this post is...
THAT PRECIOUS TOASTER!!!!
Oh my goodness. It is truly a scene stealer.
Love it!

hahaha!!!! One of the cast-offs from Lulu & Tutz! It came with a crack in it, and when i called the company they said, "Take it to the driveway and run over it." Ok..I'll think about it.
It's a happy way to make toast!

No...the best part of your post was the picture of you and Em!!! Even sick, she is just too cute, like her mom! What's with the full dress and necklace, Em? Hope you are feeling better and the rest of you don't get sick! Have some happy toast!

i love our library and i'm choosing to be happy for you and not jealous at your awesome freebies!!!

random note: would you like to join me during my garage sales? I thought perhaps you would have some things you'd like to part with and like me, it's always better to sell with friends around!! i have some other neighbors joining me as well. only one requirement:no selling crap!

I'm with you, Amy!!!! Haven't been there in a WEEK!!! I was shocked at the MAGAZINE that came from "Cath"...I expected a catalog and ended up with a well written magazine...if only she were in Lancaster....she doesn't know what she's missing out on!

So glad to have found your blog again through CQ's. I missed reading your wonderful posts. I hope Emma is feeling better. TJ was throwing up all Sunday night (just so happened the baby needed to nurse right when he woke up so J had to take care of it ;) SK had her bout of it Tuesday night... and she, too, woke up Daddy instead of me!!!

Love the toaster! Kelly S.

Hey....mamafish!!! Took me a minute to put the name w/YOUR name! Hi! Glad the kids are on the mend...thankfully, right, since you're all trapped in the snowstorm together!!! Absolute WORST thing to be stuck in the house WITH the flu bug running rampant!!!
