Don't look now...

This is definitely not working for me!!!  I had a great idea to change things up on my blog...make it a little Fall-ish looking.  There's a fire in the fireplace which officially means it's time to change my pastel background.  BUT, the mess I've made of it is not exactly what I had in mind!  That's the thing about computers...they don't read your mind and automatically DO what you're thinking.  It's definitely easier to rearrange the furniture in my living room than the background of this blog.  UGH!  I guess I'll be doing a bunch of Google searches to find out how to center my border and rearrange the things that are out of place.  {I'm secretly in love with GOOGLE, so it will give us some time together, but I'm annoyed!}

I don't have much nice to say right now, so I'll just leave you with the pictures of the best part of my afternoon.  {Weird, I know, but I've NEVER had my very own  fireplace and it kind of excites me.}

{The supplies my daddy left me...}
{Holding my breath to see if 3 year old wood will burn...}

{And we have flames!!!}
{Where I spent an hour reading...really, I did!}
I've used about two dozen logs today...is that normal?  I have no idea, but at this rate we will need a few more large trees to fall in the backyard to supply us for the whole winter.
Hope you find yourself cozying up to a warm fire or a warm blanket on this cold, rainy night...forget the annoyances that came your way today in favor of something completely happy.

 "I can envision a small cottage somewhere, with a
lot of writing paper, and a dog, and a fireplace and
maybe enough money to give myself some Irish coffee now
and then and entertain my two friends."

Ahhh...the smell of a fireplace. My grandparent's had one (and then, when we kicked them out-just kidding-and moved in, so did we!) and I always, always love the smell of them and the cozy crackle that emits from the embers.
If you get desperate, shoot me an email, and If i can, I'll share what i've learned...which is VERY, VERY little and probably barely worth your time. Best wishes on the understanding of blog design...
