"I hold on to You for dear life, and you hold me steady as a post..." Psalm 63

Something's in the air...

...and it brought germs in with it.  Nick was on the couch all day....I counted, 12 hrs...
not even sure he got up to pee!

{And if you read here often, you know that means THIS came out}

Thankfully, it did not include the nasty vomiting-thing...mostly just the“sniffling, sneezing, coughing, aching, stuffy head, fever" kind of germs.  The kind that only the Dayquil/Nyquil combo relieves every 4 hrs.
 He's a different kid when he's sick.

He's still
quiet
somber
appreciative
and gentle...

He doesn't even ATTEMPT to comment on his sister's every move
doesn't try to hug her because he knows she thinks she's too cool to hug back
doesn't bug her
doesn't tell her everything she does wrong
doesn't even care what she's doing....

and SHE actually ASKED him if he needed a snack or more ice in his water...
actually LET him kiss her on the cheek before bed w/out whining
Do you see my dilemma?
{Don't tell him, but I might have accidently switched the Nyquil with colored, flavored sugar water}

Besides the fact that I hate to see my kids sick, they are secretly some of  my favorite days...
we all just get along so nicely! You might even use the word "sweet" to describe our behavior.
Is it too much to ask for a few more sick days before the season blows over???

OK...I am not TRULY hoping for my child to awake in the morning in the same state he did today...I'd much rather he be healthy AND sweet....I'm just saying, sometimes it doesn't happen that way!
Every once in a while a mildly sick day just seems to be a good thing.  What 16 year old kid doesn't love to sit on the couch, nap, watch movies and be waited on by his mom and 13 year old sister...it just feels good!  So, it's actually been a good day, flu-bug and all.

“Blessed is the servant who loves his brother as much when he is sick and useless as when he is well and can be of service to him. And blessed is he who loves his brother as well when he is afar off as when he is by his side, and who would say nothing behind his back he might not, in love, say before his face.”

St. Francis of Assisi

Poor Nick! Well at least he rested his vocal cords! I am SURE that child was born with a hoarse throat! I am trying to remember if I ever thought it was a "good" day when one of you girls was sick??? I think we may have actually had a few "sweet" days even when you were both well! Well, maybe not between the ages of 13-16!! Hope he is okay today and back to his normal sweet self!

He is much better today....and yes, back to his normal sweet self. No "Quil's" needed today..
